Heide Trask has gone 8-2 against Pender recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Titans will be playing in front of their home fans against the Patriots at 7:00 p.m. Heide Trask has now lost seven straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since the 1st.
Heide Trask saw some tournament action on Monday. They came up short against Purnell Swett, falling 11-1.
Heide Trask saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Trey Cheatham, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run. Gabe Vanvliet-Strickland also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
Meanwhile, after only one run in their last game, Pender made sure to put some runs up on the board against Lakewood on Tuesday. The Patriots came out on top in a nail-biter against the Leopards, sneaking past 10-8.
Ryan Howell made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over four innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. Howell was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, four runs, and one triple. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in February.
In other batting news, Sean Cummings was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high.
Pender's victory bumped their record up to 5-13. As for Heide Trask, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-16.
Everything went Heide Trask's way against Pender in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, as Heide Trask made off with a 19-9 win. Will the Titans repeat their success, or do the Patriots have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
