Mynderse Academy dropped their record down to 5-3 on Saturday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins. They came up short against the Palmyra-Macedon Red Raiders, falling 8-1. Having soared to a lofty 11 runs in the game before, the Blue Devils couldn't push the score so high this time.

As for Palmyra-Macedon, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-2. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six games by seven runs or more this season.

For Palmyra-Macedon's part, Noah DaPolito spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on three hits and racked up 12 Ks.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Ryan Caffyn, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Brady Leo was another key player, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.

Coming up, Mynderse Academy will venture away from home to face off against Newark at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. Palmyra-Macedon will be paying especially close attention to the Blue Devils' contest: after the Blue Devils face off against the Reds, they'll take on Palmyra-Macedon again at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
