Softball Recap: Callie Moyer Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Benton

Northwest Area put their dominant pitcher on display in the team's third consecutive shutout on Tuesday. They never let the Benton Tigers get on the board and left with a 22-0 win. The Rangers have beaten the Tigers the last six times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Tigers has come to flipping the script.

Natalia Ninotti made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out nine batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Ninotti was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with four RBI, one run, and one double.

In other batting news, Callie Moyer was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Ashlyn Hermanofski was another key player, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.

Northwest Area's record now sits at 8-1. As for Benton, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.

Northwest Area has already played their next contest, an 11-1 victory against Bucktail on the 16th. As for Benton, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 28-27 win against Sugar Valley Rural on the 23rd.
