Soccer Recap: Statesville Comes Up Short

Statesville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They lost 3-0 to the East Rowan Mustangs. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Statesville's defeat dropped their record down to 0-8. As for East Rowan, their win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-9.

Statesville and East Rowan could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings. The Greyhounds (ranked 487th) will meet St. Stephens (ranked 116th) at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, East Rowan will challenge Central Cabarrus at 5:30 p.m. on Friday with a big rank disadvantage (443 vs. 177).
