Softball Recap: Bath County Drops Season-High Score on Morgan County

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Bath County). Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Morgan County Cougars an 18-0 shutout on Monday. The Wildcats have beaten the Cougars the last seven times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Cougars has come to flipping the script.

Bath County pushed their record up to 11-5 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.7 runs over those games. As for Morgan County, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-11 record this season.

Bath County will take on Rowan County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Vikings will roll in looking for their 15th straight victory, something the Wildcats surely won't give up without a fight. As for Morgan County, they will host Menifee County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
