Baseball Game Preview: Malibu Sharks vs. Carpinteria Warriors

The Malibu Sharks will head out on the road to challenge the Carpinteria Warriors at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Malibu gave up the first runs on Friday, but they didn't let that get them down. They came out on top against Channel Islands by a score of 7-2. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Sharks.

The team relied heavily on Tanner Kies, who went 4-for-5 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Those four hits gave him a new career-high. Caleb Childress was another key player, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Carpinteria, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Santa Paula on Friday, sneaking past 4-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Warriors have posted against the Cardinals since April 28, 2023.

Malibu's record now sits at 5-10. As for Carpinteria, their record is now 12-5.

Malibu skirted past Carpinteria 3-1 in their previous matchup back in April of 2025. Will the Sharks repeat their success, or do the Warriors have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
