Baseball Recap: St. Joseph Gets the Win

St. Joseph is still undefeated this season after their contest against Oaks Christian on Monday, but Oaks Christian came as close as anyone has to beating them. The Knights came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 4-3 W against the Lions. This was payback for the Knights, who suffered a 9-2 loss the last time these two teams met.

St. Joseph's victory was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Cristiano Goncalves, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI.

St. Joseph's win bumped their record up to 7-0. As for Oaks Christian, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. St. Joseph will be taking part in a tournament against Stockdale at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Knights' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Mustangs have averaged an impressive 7.2 runs per game this season. As for Oaks Christian, they will take on Hart at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
