Basketball Recap: Claxton Comes Up Short

If Claxton was riding high fresh off their 80-60 takedown of Montgomery County last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Claxton Tigers took a hard 62-46 fall against the Jenkins County War Eagles on Friday. The loss continues a trend for the Tigers in their matchups with the War Eagles: they've now lost six in a row.

Claxton's defeat dropped their record down to 5-9. As for Jenkins County, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-8 record this season.

Claxton wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 59-53 loss against Bulloch Academy on the 18th. As for Jenkins County, they will challenge McIntosh County Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. McIntosh County Academy will roll in looking for their ninth straight victory, something Jenkins County surely won't give up without a fight.
