Basketball Recap: Demitri Adado's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Grove City over Hilliard Darby

Grove City was the 77-54 winner over Hilliard Darby when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Grove City Greyhounds fell to the Hilliard Darby Panthers 52-48. While losing is never fun, the Greyhounds can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 364th, while the Panthers are ranked 52nd).

Several Greyhounds players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Demitri Adado, who posted 19 points. The matchup was Adado's third in a row with at least ten points. Jacob Saxton was another key player, putting up 12 points.

Grove City dropped their record down to 5-8 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Hilliard Darby, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 11-1.

Grove City will host New Albany at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hilliard Darby has already played their next game (against Olentangy Berlin), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
