Soccer Game Preview: Ellison vs. Waco

Ellison hasn't had much luck against Waco recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Eagles will take on the Lions at 7:15 p.m. Ellison has given up an average of 4.3 goals per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Ellison fell victim to Chaparral and their airtight defense on Tuesday. They came up short against the Bobcats, falling 6-0. While losing is never fun, Ellison can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 802nd, while Chaparral are ranked 208th).

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Waco challenged Belton on Tuesday. The Lions narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Tigers 2-1. The victory continues a trend for Waco in their matchups with Belton: they've now won seven in a row.

Ellison's loss dropped their record down to 2-13. As for Waco, their win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-1-1 and their overall record up to 3-10-3.

Ellison might still be hurting after the 4-0 defeat they got from Waco in their previous matchup back in February of 2025. Can the Eagles avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
