Softball Game Preview: Emmetsburg E'Hawks vs. Newell-Fonda Mustangs

Emmetsburg is 0-6 against Newell-Fonda since June of 2016 but things could change on Monday. The E'Hawks will host the Mustangs at 7:30 p.m.

Emmetsburg is headed into Monday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their seventh straight game dating back to last season on Saturday. They came up short against Sheldon, falling 10-1.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Newell-Fonda). They put the hurt on North Union with a sharp 19-5 win on Saturday. The Mustangs haven't had any issues with the Warriors recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.

Newell-Fonda's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-2. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Emmetsburg, their loss dropped their record down to 0-6.
