Baseball Game Preview: Christoval Cougars vs. Forsan Buffaloes

Christoval is 0-4 against Forsan since May of 2019 but things could change on Thursday. The Cougars will head out on the road to challenge the Buffaloes at 7:30 p.m. Christoval is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last 12 games.

Christoval is headed into the contest having just posted their closest victory since March 25th on Saturday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Miles 8-6.

Blaze Webber was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games he's played. Tucker Boness was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

Nazareth typically has all the answers at home, but on Monday Forsan proved too difficult a challenge. They blew past the Swifts 11-5. Considering the Buffaloes have won seven games by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Christoval pushed their record up to 14-7 with the victory, which was their ninth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.9 runs over those games. As for Forsan, their record is now 12-7-2.

Christoval might still be hurting after the 14-7 loss they got from Forsan in their previous matchup back in May of 2021. Can the Cougars avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
