The Moore County Raiders will face off against the Marion County Warriors at 11:00 a.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Moore County's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They were the clear victors by an 8-0 margin over Grundy County. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Raiders.
Moore County got a great performance from Kinsley Miller as she didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. Miller has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Savannah Rose was excellent, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March. Anna Leigh Ross was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Moore County hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post two or more strikeouts.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Marion County, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 10-2 margin over Signal Mountain on Thursday. The Warriors haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.
Marion County got a massive performance out of Brynna Thomasson, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaylee McGowan, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI and one run.
Moore County's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-6. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.3 runs over those games. As for Marion County, they now have a winning record of 12-11.
