Winning always takes teamwork, but on Tuesday Ella Grace Mitchell stepped things up a notch to give Mooreville the 'W'. Mitchell kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits over four innings pitched, good enough for us to rate the performance as the best she's had all season long. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

Mitchell's strong effort led Mooreville over Aberdeen and she'll get a chance to do so again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Troopers are a perfect 3-0 against the Bulldogs going back to April of 2024, a lead they'll look to extend.
