Baseball Recap: Wellington Comes Up Short

Wellington lost against University back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Eagles fell 4-1 to the Bulldogs. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Wellington saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Owen Gabbert, who scored a run while going 1-for-1.

Wellington's loss dropped their record down to 3-8. As for University, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 5-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wellington will welcome Roosevelt at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for University, they will take on North Fork at 9:30 a.m. on Friday. The Bulldogs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Miners have averaged an impressive 7.2 runs per game this season.
