Softball Game Preview: Lincolnwood Lancers vs. Pleasant Plains Cardinals

Lincolnwood is 0-7 against Pleasant Plains since March of 2016 but things could change on Friday. The Lancers will host the Cardinals at 5:00 p.m.

On Wednesday, Lincolnwood came up short against Pawnee and fell 6-2.

Meanwhile, Pleasant Plains had just enough and edged out Williamsville 7-5 on Thursday. The Cardinals haven't had any issues with the Bullets recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Kayden Skinner spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and two unearned) runs on seven hits.

At the plate, Aspen Kitowski was incredible, firing off two home runs, four RBI, and one stolen base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. Those two home runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Delaney Murphy, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with three runs.

Lincolnwood now has a losing record of 10-11. As for Pleasant Plains, their victory bumped their record up to 12-5-1.
