Basketball Recap: Sumter Picks Up Second Consecutive Victory

Sumter won the last time they faced West Florence, and Araina Ross did her part to make sure it happened again. The Sumter Gamecocks claimed a resounding 50-23 victory over the West Florence Knights thanks in part to Ross, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 16 steals. The matchup was her fourth in a row with at least ten points.

Kennedy Dantzler was another key player, putting up three points along with six rebounds and four steals. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in blocks (two).

The win made it two in a row for Sumter and bumps their season record up to 8-4. As for West Florence, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-9.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Blythewood the next time they take the court. West Florence will head out to face Blythewood at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, while Sumter will host them at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
