Basketball Game Preview: Texico Wolverines vs. Newcomb Skyhawks

The Texico Wolverines will take on the Newcomb Skyhawks in a tournament on Thursday. One thing working in Texico's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.

On Tuesday, Texico was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 71-67 to Santa Rosa. The loss was the Wolverines' first of the season.

Meanwhile, Newcomb was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They had to suffer through an 85-22 loss at the hands of Shiprock. The Skyhawks were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 51-17.

Having lost for the first time this season, Texico fell to 5-1. As for Newcomb, their loss dropped their record down to 2-5.

Texico beat Newcomb 68-61 in their previous meeting back in December of 2023. Do the Wolverines have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Skyhawks turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
