It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Laguna Beach can now relate to. They fell just short of the Central Spartans by a score of 2-1 on Thursday. The Breakers' loss signaled the end of their seven-game winning streak.

Their goal came courtesy of Nayan Martlin, who's now up to six this season.

Laguna Beach's defeat dropped their record down to 16-5. As for Central, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 26-2 record this season.

Laguna Beach does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Central, they will square off against Pacific Ridge at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Pacific Ridge will roll in looking for their 18th straight win, something Central surely won't give up without a fight.
