Softball Recap: Robbinsville Beats Cherokee for Their Eighth Straight Win

Robbinsville had already won seven in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.4 runs) and they went ahead and made it eight on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Cherokee Braves as they made off with a 10-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Black Knights, who have now won 11 contests by six runs or more so far this season.

The result came thanks to Naomi Taylor's shutout, as she gave up just three hits and racked up six Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Kynadee Spencer, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Daphne Barlow, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Robbinsville kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in six consecutive games.

Robbinsville's victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-3. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.4 runs on average over those games. As for Cherokee, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-6.

Coming up, Cherokee will face off against Murphy at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Robbinsville will be paying especially close attention to the Braves' match: after the Braves face off against the Bulldogs, they'll take on Robbinsville again at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
