Softball Recap: Blacksher Comes Up Short

The home team had won the previous five meetings between Blacksher and Leroy, and Leroy kept the tradition alive. The Bulldogs fell just short of the Bears by a score of 9-8 on Monday. The Bulldogs were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Bears earlier this season, when they won 4-3.

Emeri Ikner and Kadence Dailey did some serious damage despite the final result: Ikner went 2-for-4 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run, while Dailey went 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Alexis Menjivar was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two RBI.

Blacksher's loss dropped their record down to 16-6. As for Leroy, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season.

Blacksher will square off against Excel at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Leroy, they will take on Southern Choctaw at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
