Softball Recap: Leon Triumphs

Leon took a ten-run loss the last time they faced off against Florida State University High School, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Lions won by a run and slipped past the Seminoles 7-6. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Taylor Winfield spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and five unearned) runs on five hits and racked up seven Ks.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Lawsyn Adams, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Olivia Serles was another key player, getting on base in both of her plate appearances with one run and one RBI.
