Basketball Recap: Bellmont Extends Winning Streak to Five

Bellmont lost to Carroll back in January of 2015, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Tuesday. The Bellmont Braves came out on top against the Carroll Chargers by a score of 52-41. The win was familiar territory for the Braves who have now won five games in a row.

Several Chargers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Cala Haffner, who posted 12 points and three steals. Another player making a difference was Lily George, who put up ten points.

Bellmont pushed their record up to 11-1 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. As for Carroll, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-6 record this season.

Bellmont and Carroll should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Indiana Rankings. Bellmont (ranked 28th) will meet New Haven (ranked 346th) at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Similarly, Carroll (ranked 45th) will meet Fort Wayne Wayne (ranked 138th) at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
