Basketball Recap: Pinconning Comes Up Short

Pinconning lost against Clare back in February of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Pinconning Spartans lost 51-26 to the Clare Pioneers. While losing is never fun, the Spartans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 598th, while the Pioneers are ranked 247th).

Pinconning has also been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-16 record this season. The win (which was Clare's third in a row) raised their record to 13-6.

Coming up, Pinconning will take on Saginaw Arts & Sciences Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Clare, they will face off against Reed City at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
