            Basketball Recap: McConnellsburg Spartans vs. Berlin Brothersvalley Mountaineers        
        
		
        
        
            Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only McConnellsburg walked away with it. They blew past the Berlin Brothersvalley Mountaineers 71-31  on Friday. The Spartans have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 18  games by 20  points or more this season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead McConnellsburg to victory, but perhaps none more so than   Hoyt Glenn, who  dropped  a triple-double with 20 points, 13  boards,  and ten  assists. Glenn has been hot for a while, having also posted four or more  steals the last nine times he's  played. Another player making a difference was  Dominic Jefferson, who  went 7-for-13  to rack up 19  points along with five  assists and five  steals.
 McConnellsburg  smashed the offensive glass and  finished the game with 17  offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Berlin Brothersvalley only four  offensive boards.
 Several Mountaineers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was   Carson Janidlo, who  posted eight points and six  rebounds. What's more,  Janidlo also posted an 80%  field goal percentage, which is the highest he's  achieved since back in January of 2024.  McKelvey Foor was another key player,  putting up 14  points.

The  victory was  the 22nd in a row for McConnellsburg, bringing their record for this year to 23-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 65.6 points over those games. As for Berlin Brothersvalley, their loss dropped their record down to 10-12.
 Looking ahead, McConnellsburg will challenge Windber at 6:30  p.m.  on Thursday. Windber will roll in looking for their  fifth straight  win, something McConnellsburg surely won't give up without a fight. Berlin Brothersvalley does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
