Baseball Recap: Harmony Area Owls vs. Purchase Line Red Dragons
Harmony Area couldn't quite beat Purchase Line on Wednesday but the two-point margin was a huge improvement compared to the 15-point loss they were dealt last Thursday. The Harmony Area Owls fell just short of the Purchase Line Red Dragons by a score of 5-3. Harmony Area was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Purchase Line apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played last Monday.
Jarrod Sward put in work no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off eight hits (and only one walk). Sward was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.
Sward wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Jack Bracken, who scored two runs and stole three bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.
