Basketball Recap: Palmyra Comes Up Short

Palmyra lost against Central/Southeastern back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Palmyra Panthers fell 59-48 to the Central/Southeastern Panthers. While losing is never fun, Palmyra can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 110th in Missouri, while Central/Southeastern is ranked 19th in Illinois).

Palmyra's loss dropped their record down to 10-10. As for Central/Southeastern, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 15 of their last 16 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 23-3 record this season.

We've got a battle between Panthers coming up. As for Central/Southeastern, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Hamilton/Warsaw at 7:00 p.m. Central/Southeastern knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven matchups -- so hopefully Hamilton/Warsaw likes a good challenge.
