Preview: Fayette Ware Wildcats vs. Haywood Tomcats
Fayette Ware is 9-1 against the Tomcats since January of 2017, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Fayette Ware Wildcats will be playing in front of their home fans against the Haywood Tomcats at 6:00 p.m. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Even though Bolivar Central scored an imposing 59 points on Tuesday, Fayette Ware still came out on top. Fayette Ware secured a 65-59 W over the Tigers. The win made it back-to-back wins for Fayette Ware.
It was another big night for Markala Terry, who scored 32 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. Ke'miyah Buggs was another key contributor, scoring 17 points.
Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Haywood beat the Wildcats 49-45 on Tuesday.
Fayette Ware now has a winning record of 8-7. As for Haywood, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-11 record this season.
Fayette Ware didn't have too much breathing room in their match against the Tomcats when the teams last played back in January of 2023, but they still walked away with a 48-44 victory. Does Fayette Ware have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Tomcats turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
