Preview: Haysville Campus Colts vs. South Cougars
Haysville Campus is 9-1 against South since November of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Haysville Campus Colts will be playing in front of their home fans against the South Cougars at 7:30 p.m. Haysville Campus knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past seven contests -- so hopefully South likes a good challenge.
Haysville Campus pushed their score all the way to 56 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 62-56 hit to the loss column at the hands of Maize.
Defeat or not, Haysville Campus got some senior leadership from Andrell Burton, jr and Kaason Thomas. Burton, jr scored 27 points along with seven rebounds, while Thomas. scored 17 points along with five assists and five steals. That was a full 48.2% of Haysville Campus' points, marking the ninth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Meanwhile, South's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight loss. They were the victim of a rough 72-47 loss at the hands of Derby. South has struggled against Derby recently, as their match on Tuesday was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.
Haysville Campus' defeat dropped their record down to 10-5. As for South, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-13.
