Basketball Game Preview: Olathe Pirates vs. Hayden Tigers + How To Watch

The Olathe Pirates will head out to take on the Hayden Tigers at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Olathe has given up an average of 59.4 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Olathe is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Grand Valley just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Friday. They took a 63-54 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cardinals. While the Pirates didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Cardinals 19-15 in the first quarter.

Despite the defeat, Olathe had strong showings from Isaiah Gordon, who almost dropped a double-double with 19 points and nine steals, and Elijah Gordon, who posted 15 points along with six rebounds and five steals. Isaiah's evening made it 18 games in a row in which he has scored at least 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Cesar Mendez, who put up seven points and seven boards.

Meanwhile, Hayden came up short against De Beque on Saturday and fell 72-59. The Tigers haven't had much luck with the Dragons recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Olathe will have to contain Jace Bene as he made an impact in Hayden's last game. He shot 53% from the field to rack up 25 points and seven rebounds. Bene is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in each of the last six games he's played dating back to last season. Justin Preston was another key player, putting up 18 points.

Olathe's record is now 3-2. As for Hayden, their record now sits at 2-4.
