Recap: Maryland School for the Deaf Orioles vs. Mount Airy Christian Academy
After a string of 13 wins, the Maryland School for the Deaf Orioles's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They took a 60-48 hit to the loss column at the hands of Mount Airy Christian Academy. Maryland School for the Deaf has struggled against Mount Airy Christian Academy recently, as their contest on Thursday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Joey Stanton was his usual excellent self, scoring 29 points along with four steals and three blocks for Mount Airy Christian Academy. Stanton is trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for three games straight. The team also got some help courtesy of Caleb Stein, who scored 12 points along with eight assists and six rebounds.
Maryland School for the Deaf's loss ended an eight-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 16-4. As for Mount Airy Christian Academy, their victory was their ninth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 18-1.
Maryland School for the Deaf will be playing at home against Rockbridge Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Mount Airy Christian Academy's road trip will continue as they head out to face Heritage Academy at 6:30 p.m. on February 12th.
