Softball Recap: South Houston Comes Up Short

South Houston was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 23rd straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against the Pasadena Memorial Mavericks, falling 21-3. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Trojans of the 23-2 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Julissa Sanchez was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run and stealing Two bases. while going 1-for-2. Vanessa Vargas also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

South Houston's defeat dropped their record down to 0-11. As for Pasadena Memorial, they moved to 4-9 with that win, which also ended their five-game losing streak.

Looking ahead, South Houston will head out on the road to face off against Shadow Creek at 6:03 p.m. on Friday. As for Pasadena Memorial, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Sam Rayburn at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Pasadena Memorial is facing Sam Rayburn at the right time seeing as Sam Rayburn is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
