Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Verndale walked away with it. They put the hurt on the Sebeka Trojans with a sharp 3-0 victory on Friday. The win was familiar territory for the Pirates, who have now won five contests in a row.

Verndale never let Sebeka on the board, but things got pretty close in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 27-25, 25-16.

When it comes to explaining why Sebeka lost, don't look at Emma Ness. Despite the final result, she had 30 digs.

Verndale's victory bumped their record up to 11-12. As for Sebeka, their loss ended a four-match streak of wins at home and dropped them to 15-13.

As of now, neither Verndale nor the Trojans have any future games scheduled.
