Baseball Recap: Hornell Comes Up Short

Hornell was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against the Wellsville Lions, falling 11-4. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Red Raiders of the 15-3 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Hornell saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ashton Hooker, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Hornell's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Wellsville, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-0.

Hornell will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Haverling at 4:30 p.m. on the 23rd. As for Wellsville, they will take on Corning-Painted Post West at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
