Softball Recap: Robertsdale Has No Trouble Against Elberta

Robertsdale won the last time they faced Elberta and things went their way on Tuesday too. Robertsdale was the clear victor by a 9-3 margin over Elberta. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Golden Bears.

Ashton Mckey spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on seven hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Kinsley Stevens was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. What's more, she posted two RBI, the most she's had since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Olivia Parker, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-5.

Robertsdale's victory bumped their record up to 11-9. As for Elberta, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-17 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Robertsdale will welcome Citronelle at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Citronelle has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.42 runs per game on average), something Robertsdale will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Elberta, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Rain at 5:00 p.m.
