Walter Johnson waltzed into their contest  on Friday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They came out on top against the Wootton Patriots by a score of  61-50. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won  51-41  back in January.
Walter Johnson's win  was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from   Kendall Alexander, who  went 7 of 17  to rack up 17 points in addition to six  steals and five  assists. Alexander has been hot, having  posted four or more  steals the last eight times she's  played. Another player making a difference was  Elizabeth Martin, who  posted 13  points along with five  boards and three  steals.
 Walter Johnson  smashed the offensive glass and  finished the game with ten  offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now  pulled down at least eight  offensive boards in ten consecutive  games.
 Wootton's loss  came despite strong showings from  Malia Bellamy and  Maya Bellamy.  Malia  dropped  a double-double on 25 points and 11  rebounds, while  Maya  almost  dropped  a double-double on 14  points and nine  boards. Those 25 points gave  Malia a new career-high.  Maya Gopstein was another key player,  putting up six  points.
Walter Johnson's record now sits at 15-3. As for Wootton,  they are  on  a  three-game losing streak  that has dropped them down to 7-10.
 Looking ahead, Walter Johnson will head out to  take on Whitman  at 7:15  p.m.  on Monday. As for Wootton, they will face off against Bethesda-Chevy Chase on Monday.
