Basketball Game Preview: Sutton Sammies vs. Maynard Tigers

Sutton is a perfect 6-0 against Maynard since December of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Saturday. The Sutton Sammies will be taking part in a tournament against the Maynard Tigers at 12:45 p.m. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Sutton has struggled recently with three losses in a row, while Maynard will arrive with five straight victories.

On Thursday, Sutton was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 41-40 to Blackstone-Millville.

Meanwhile, Maynard strolled past Doherty Memorial with points to spare on Thursday, taking the game 48-32.

Sutton's defeat dropped their record down to 8-10. As for Maynard, they pushed their record up to 12-4 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home.

Sutton skirted past Maynard 39-36 when the teams last played back in February of 2023. Does Sutton have another victory up their sleeve, or will Maynard turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
