Baseball Game Preview: Brooke Bruins vs. Weir Red Riders

Brooke and Weir are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2017, but likely not for long. Brooke is taking a road trip to face off against Weir at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Brooke will be strutting in after a win while Weir will be coming in after a loss.

Brooke's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Saturday. They walked away with a 4-0 victory over Grafton. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Bruins.

Henry Anderson was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out nine over four innings pitched. Those nine strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

Anderson wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Andrew Murdock, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base.

Meanwhile, Weir fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against John Marshall on Saturday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell 14-9 to the Monarchs. Surprisingly, this marked the fourth straight game that the away team has come away the victor.

Weir's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Brooke, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Brooke took their win against Weir in their previous matchup back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 12-2. Does Brooke have another victory up their sleeve, or will Weir turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
