Preview: Coweta Tigers vs. Memorial Chargers
Coweta is 0-3 against Memorial since February of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Coweta Tigers on the road again and play against the Memorial Chargers at 7:30 p.m. on January 26th. Coweta will be strutting in after a win while Memorial will be coming in after a defeat.
Even though Durant scored an imposing 74 points on Tuesday, Coweta still came out on top. Coweta pulled ahead with a 75-74 photo finish over Durant.
Meanwhile, Memorial came up short against Holland Hall on Wednesday and fell 46-37. It was the first time this season that Memorial let down their fans at home.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Jalil Cotton, who scored nine points along with six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Hayden Williamson, who scored nine points.
Coweta's win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-10. As for Memorial, their loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-4.
Coweta lost to Memorial on the road by a decisive 55-39 margin when the teams last played back in December of 2023. Can Coweta avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
