Baseball Recap: Bellaire Beats Ellsworth for Their Third Straight Victory

Bellaire had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They walked away with a 9-4 win over the Ellsworth Lancers. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 8-1 on Thursday.

Jayden Hanson looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, he posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Colin Bearup, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. That triple was his first of the season. Drake Koepke was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Bellaire's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-5-1. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Ellsworth, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-13.

Bellaire didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 10-0 victory against Posen on the 27th. Ellsworth does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
