Softball Recap: Mount View Comes Up Short

Mount View was the 15-5 winner over Old Orchard Beach when they last played one another back in April of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Mustangs lost 14-3 to the Seagulls on Friday. The Mustangs' defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it three in a row.

Emily Richards made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged two or more in each of the last three games she's played.

Mount View's loss dropped their record down to 2-11. As for Old Orchard Beach, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-8.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mount View will square off against Maine Central Institute at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Old Orchard Beach, they will challenge North Yarmouth Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
