Basketball Recap: Culver Academies Snags Fifth Victory in Last Six Games

Culver Academies extended their road winning streak to three games thanks to a huge performance from Kayla Herron. The Culver Academies Eagles really took it to the Jimtown Jimmies for the full four quarters, racking up a 59-17 win thanks in part to Herron, who went 6 of 10 on her way to 18 points and five steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last five games she's played.

The team also got some help courtesy of Reid Seddelmeyer, who posted four points along with seven assists and six steals. Those six steals gave her a new career-high.

Despite the loss, Jimtown saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Lily Gaugler had seven points and four steals.

Culver Academies has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 16-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.0 points per game. As for Jimtown, they are on a 17-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-19.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Culver Academies will take on Plymouth at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Plymouth will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Culver Academies surely won't give up without a fight. As for Jimtown, they will square off against South Central at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
