Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Catholic of Pointe Coupee). Everything went their way against the Slaughter Community Charter Knights on Wednesday as the Catholic of Pointe Coupee Hornets made off with a 19-4 victory. The Hornets might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine games by six runs or more this season.

Catholic of Pointe Coupee's win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-4. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.9 runs on average over those games. As for Slaughter Community Charter, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season.

Catholic of Pointe Coupee will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Westminster Christian Academy at 5:00 p.m. As for Slaughter Community Charter, they will face off against Livonia at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
