Volleyball Game Preview: Mesa Ridge Grizzlies vs. Lutheran Lions

The Mesa Ridge Grizzlies will take on the Lutheran Lions at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Lutheran took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Mesa Ridge, who comes in off a win.

Mesa Ridge will bounce into Thursday's game after beating Fountain-Fort Carson, who they had gone 1-7 against in their eight prior meetings. The Grizzlies walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Trojans on Tuesday. The game was the first time the Grizzlies have beaten the Trojans on their court since May 26, 2021.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 25-23, 23-25, 25-16.

Meanwhile, Lutheran came up short against Pueblo South on Tuesday and fell 3-1. The Lions have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Lutheran started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 23-25, 26-24, 25-23, 25-19.

Mesa Ridge's win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-13 and their overall record up to 3-18. As for Lutheran, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-9.
