Recap: Bertie Falcons vs. Holmes Aces
The Bertie Falcons won the last time they faced the Holmes Aces, and things went their way on Tuesday too. Bertie really took it to Holmes for the full four quarters, racking up a 64-25 victory at home. With Bertie ahead 49-6 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
Among those leading the charge was Zymiere Dempsey, who scored 18 points. That makes it two consecutive games in which he has scored at least 25% of Bertie's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jeremiah Benthall, who scored 10 points.
The victory makes it two in a row for Bertie and bumps their season record up to 2-0. As for Holmes, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.
Bertie will take on Wayne Country Day at 8:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Holmes, they will head out on the road to face off against Gates County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
