Football Recap: Desert Christian Academy's Undefeated Season over After 11 Games

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Desert Christian Academy can now relate to. They fell just short of the Arroyo Valley Hawks by a score of 26-24 on Friday. The game marked the Conquerors' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Special teams was a major factor in the game for Desert Christian Academy, racking up 12 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Cashton Scott, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.

Arroyo Valley had a senior duo take command as Joseph Stanley gained 236 total yards and two touchdowns and Jerome Weaver rushed for 104 yards and one TD on only 11 carries. Stanley's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his fourth straight game with at least 102 rushing yards.

Having lost for the first time this season, Desert Christian Academy fell to 10-1. As for Arroyo Valley, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 9-2.

Desert Christian Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Arroyo Valley, they will face off against Santa Paula at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
