Football Game Preview: Telstar Rebels vs. Bucksport Golden Bucks

The Telstar Rebels will challenge the Bucksport Golden Bucks at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Telstar has given up an average of 28 points per game this season, but Saturday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Telstar is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Maine's top teams: Sacopee Valley, who was ranked 15th at the time (Telstar was ranked 18th). The Rebels took a 46-42 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Hawks on Friday. The game snapped a strange streak: the last four times these teams have met, it?s been the away team that?s taken home the W.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 64 points the game before, Bucksport was a bit more limited in their game on Friday. They had to suffer through a 50-6 loss at the hands of Dexter. The contest marked the Golden Bucks' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Bucksport's defeat dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Telstar, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.

Telstar took a serious blow against Bucksport in their previous meeting back in September of 2024, falling 56-12. Can the Rebels avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
