Baseball Game Preview: Muncie Central Bearcats vs. Anderson Indians

Muncie Central is 2-8 against Anderson since May of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Bearcats will look to defend their home field against the Indians at 5:30 p.m. Muncie Central will be strutting in after a win while Anderson will be coming in after a defeat.

While Muncie Central's victory against Muncie Burris wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Bearcats won by a run and slipped past the Owls 9-8. The win continues a trend for the Bearcats in their matchups with the Owls: they've now won four in a row.

Western hit Anderson with a six-run seventh inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Indians came up short against the Panthers, falling 14-8. The Indians have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Cole Roberts was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Kadyn Kendall, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.

Muncie Central's victory bumped their record up to 3-12. As for Anderson, their loss dropped their record down to 8-7.

Muncie Central suffered a grim 11-5 defeat to Anderson in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Can the Bearcats avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
