Softball Recap: Columbia Takes a Loss

Columbia fell victim to Hancock and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They lost 11-0 to the Hancock Hawks. The contest marked the first time this season in which the Wildcats were not able to get on the board.

This is the second loss in a row for Columbia and nudges their season record down to 6-5. As for Hancock, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 8-1.

Columbia and Hancock should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Mississippi Rankings. Columbia will take on Perry Central at 6:30 p.m. on March 14th up 98 places (42 vs. 140). Meanwhile, Hancock (ranked fourth) will meet Warren Central (ranked 131st) at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
