Baseball Game Preview: Fayetteville-Manlius Hornets vs. Whitesboro Warriors

The Fayetteville-Manlius Hornets will challenge the Whitesboro Warriors at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Neither Fayetteville-Manlius nor Whitesboro posted many runs in their last games, so it might be the pitching crews that decide this one.

On Thursday, Fayetteville-Manlius didn't have quite enough to beat Cicero-North Syracuse and fell 3-2. The Hornets have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Fayetteville-Manlius saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Dylan Friedman, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one RBI. That run marked the first that Friedman has scored this season.

Meanwhile, after a string of four wins, Whitesboro's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They fell just short of Oswego by a score of 2-1. The contest marked the Warriors' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Whitesboro's loss dropped their record down to 9-3. As for Fayetteville-Manlius, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-10.

Fayetteville-Manlius was able to grind out a solid victory over Whitesboro when the teams last played back in May of 2024, winning 7-4. Will the Hornets repeat their success, or do the Warriors have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
